M1 CONSTRUCTION DAILY #34 – Heavy scaffolding construction

We built the so-called heavy scaffolding at the Biatorbágy junction of the M1 motorway over the main road 1 at night.

This structure was needed to allow demolition work on the motorway bridge to be carried out while allowing traffic to flow underneath on Route 1.

The design also had to take into account that, when the bridge is demolished, the height of the structure should not fall below the required level, so there is no need to limit the height of vehicles passing under the bridge.

Despite the very strong winds, the work progressed well, and by dawn traffic was able to use Highway 1 again without restrictions.

The following animation shows how the M1 widening will be implemented, the workflows to get from the original traffic pattern to the new widened lane and the 2+1+1 diversion:

We have launched a dedicated website on the M1 extension to provide credible and fast information.

In these 13 languages, information that is important and necessary for driving on the M1 is permanently available in a dedicated way: possible junction closures, rest area restrictions and the current traffic order are also shown on the map, but emergency stopping points are also available on the site.

The site is available here: https://development.mkif.hu/m1

IMPORTANT!

We will provide 2×2 lanes for road users throughout the extension. So there will also be 2-2 lanes in the direction of Győr and Budapest.

Cars and trucks can use the track all the time!

Thank you for your patience! We are on track. Together, with you.
