In the Biatorbágy and Herceghalom areas, pile driving works, reed stripping, junction preparation and embankment widening are also ongoing. Millions of cubic metres of earth will have to be moved during the M1 widening.
In January, we are or were working in 89 sites. Despite the wintry weather and hard frosts, 1500 of our colleagues are working every day on and off the main track.
We carry out 23 road works, 7 temporary traffic engineering works, 53 bridge works, 4 hydraulic works and 2 environmental works.
Some of these are tasks that may not always be visible to road users from the main line, but are important to complete so that the next phases of the extension can get underway.
