In 2023, the biggest motorway upgrade in Hungary’s history began, and it will continue countrywide until 31 August this year. The renovation, referred to as levelling up, affects 538 km, 43% of the track operated and maintained by us.
As part of this renovation, a full track barrier is expected to be installed on Pentele Bridge on Friday 11 April 2025, after peak hours, from 5 p.m. The full closure will be in place until Sunday evening, 13 April, 7 p.m., as planned, so the bridge will be open for traffic on Monday.
As indicated in our previous press release, we are already working on the southern side of the bridge (right lane, towards Dunavecse), with half lane closure until 31.05.2025. However, in April and May, we currently plan to have a total of three weekends with full road closures to allow us to carry out the preparatory work for the replacement of the bearing and the dilatation joints. This is why this weekend closure is necessary.
We know that the closure may cause inconvenience, but some of the maintenance tasks can only be carried out safely on a bridge structure without traffic.
During the weekend closure, it is possible to detour towards Dunaföldvár, so it is possible to cross the river between Dunaföldvár and Solt on route 52 during the closure.
Closures and work dates may change depending on weather, logistical arrangements and other external circumstances. Therefore, please follow our Facebook page and our website to keep up to date with the latest information!
Of course, drivers will also be informed via Útinform.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.
We work for you!
