New traffic regime on the M1 motorway at the M1-M0 junction!

Our colleagues have completed the reconstruction of the diversion between km 19 and km 17, and at the same time we have reopened the diversion lane to Budapest.

Under the new traffic regime:

  • we will close the no through lane between kilometres 19 and 17,
  • traffic heading towards Budapest will be diverted to the lane already diverted(!).

This will allow 2+2 traffic on the Győr side of the line, maintaining the 2-2 lanes in each direction. This means that traffic on the side of the track leading to the border will be able to use two lanes towards Győr and two lanes towards the capital!

To the M0 motorway, it will be possible to return from the diverted lane at junction 17 to 2 lanes.

And those who want to continue towards Budaörs should use the detoured inner lane, similar to the current traffic pattern.

Drivers travelling towards the border will not be affected by the new traffic regime!

Drivers heading towards the capital are asked not to drive out of habit, but to pay attention and obey the signs of the Highway Code.

For the traffic regulations in force, please consult the map below:

During the closure – on Sunday during the day – we not only rebuilt the diversion, but also carried out operational tasks that can only be done safely on a traffic-free stretch: among other things, we washed the bridge and repaired the guardrail.

We wrote in detail about why we rebuilt the diversion and why the new traffic order was necessary in our Saturday post:

Please drive with extra care!
