Update 14:15: Due to the change in weather conditions, the 7.5 tonne weight limit on the M7 is now in force from km 130 (Balatonőszöd area) to the border. On the M70, the restriction is still in force for the whole section!
Friday 12:00 – All the roads we operate are dry, some of them are wet with salt, despite the winter weather all the roads we operate are passable! No congestion, no traffic jams!
We are constantly monitoring the weather, and our colleagues are on standby from 0-24 hours to carry out winter clearance tasks according to the weather.
Temperatures on our network currently range between -12 and -4 degrees Celsius. Visibility is good everywhere.
Our staff have been on the ground continuously for the past 24 hours and are still out there.
Last night, our colleagues spread 440 tonnes of road salt and 110,000 litres of calcium chloride solution on the 1,300 km of motorway we manage. We have plenty of both materials in stock in our engineering warehouses.
We currently have 170 machines and 200 colleagues on standby at 21 engineering sites. Dozens of machines are currently on the road, spreading around 600 tonnes of road salt on the tracks at this very moment.
In the west of the country, snow is falling in several places. In the southwest of the country, however, there is also sleet!
For this reason, a weight limit of 7.5 tonnes has been introduced from 11am on the section between km 170 of the M7 (Balatonkeresztúr area) and the border, and on the entire M70!
Please drive according to the current weather, road and visibility conditions! Drive responsibly!
