The night from Saturday to Sunday, the so-called portals holding information signs in the area of the M1-M0 junction were dismantled.
The structures spanning the motorway are each 15-16 metres wide, about 5 metres high and weigh between 10-12 tonnes. They were loaded onto trucks in several pieces by crane and transported away.
The portals had to be removed because the widened track would not fit underneath.
Just an interesting fact: the blue, directional signs fixed on them are 15-20 square metres! In the photos, they are already visible on the ground.
Despite the rain, the work progressed quickly, and traffic was back to its usual, temporary routine by dawn.
To ensure the safety of the work, it was necessary to completely close the Budapest side of the road, and traffic was diverted to the inner lanes of the Győr side, thus ensuring traffic flow to the capital throughout the night.
During the night, 7 such portals were dismantled.
Similar portals on the Győr side are expected to be removed next autumn.
Thank you for your patience! We wish you an accident-free journey!
