On Saturday, we took part in a successful complex exercise to prepare the participating organisations to deal effectively with emergency situations such as traffic accidents during the M1 motorway widening.
For one and a half to two years, regular consultations and joint preparations have been taking place with the partner authorities to facilitate coordinated cooperation during the M1 enlargement.
The aim of the exercise was to ensure that the Komárom-Esztergom County Police, the National Directorate General for Disaster Management, the National Ambulance Service and the Hungarian Defence Forces could ensure the safety of the population, the smooth operation of traffic and the continuous functioning of vital infrastructures in a coordinated manner.
During the simulated situation, the participants practiced the incident management of an accident on a narrowed 2+2 lane of the M1 motorway due to its widening, as well as the search and apprehension of the perpetrator of a deliberate act that caused a permanent power cut.
The check-points set up at the Igmand rest area also tested the cooperation, responsiveness and communication effectiveness of police and co-authority units.
It was a key part of the exercise:
🔺maintaining the public’s sense of security,
🔺 ensuring the continuity and safety of transport,
🔺 to improve the management and cooperation protocols for damage repair operations.
Thank you to the trainees and Eurotrade Ltd for the venue!
