M1 EXPANSION DAILY #18 – Preparatory works on the main line continue

Preparatory work on the main line continues.

In addition to the work between Óbarok and Tatabánya (42-56 km), which started first, traffic will be diverted to the outside and hard shoulder lanes on both sides by lane closures at two other locations this week, between Komárom and Concó rest area (84-96km) and on the M0-Bicske section (20-35km).

This will also allow work to start on the separation lane at these locations:

  • Vegetation will be removed, the existing drainage systems will be repaired and the current strip barrier will be replaced by concrete dividers to make traffic safer.
  • We will also build service crossings and emergency bays so that during expansion, if there is a technical problem, it will be possible to get out of the traffic lane as quickly as possible and rescue operations can be carried out more quickly.
  • Bridges and overpasses will have to be rebuilt or completely rebuilt, so the necessary intermediate supports will also be built.

The works will be carried out in several phases, in several locations, and we will keep you updated on our online platforms!

The junctions and rest areas on the sections will remain accessible!

As before, the distractions will be limited to 80 km/h! The total time lost on the diverted sections at 80 km/h will be approximately 11 minutes.

Thank you for your patience!
We are on track. Together, with you.
