Another spectacular and interesting work is underway as part of the preparations for expansion.
The staff of the National Archaeological Institute of the MNMKK Hungarian National Museum are carrying out the so-called test excavations in the green areas of the M1 motorway, i.e. in the gas strip and in some places in the rest stop, as well. These tests are necessary for the preparation of the preliminary archaeological documentation.
These preliminary investigations are necessary to minimize the number of archaeological sites that may be discovered unexpectedly during the construction period, thus ensuring the smooth running of the expansion project. We’ll return with another diary entry soon, because this is just the beginning!
