MKIF Zrt. assumes the operation of the Peter Cerny Foundation’s ambulance for three months

MKIF Hungarian Concession Infrastructure Development Plc. is supporting the operation of one of the Peter Cerny Foundation’s ambulances with 66 million forints, ensuring the smooth operation of the flagship organisation of Hungarian premature and newborn rescue for three months.

The relationship between the company that operates, maintains and renovates most of the country’s expressway network and the Peter Cerny Foundation started last year. In August 2023, the company supported the purchase of a so-called blood gas analyser for ambulances through the Pro Filii Foundation. From a drop of blood, the device can provide doctors with life-saving information already on the spot about what care the troubled little one needs. The device saved lives on the very first day.

Tamás Németh, CEO of MKIF Zrt. said:

“MKIF Zrt. was established to provide a higher level of service and to ensure the smoothest and safest possible use of the domestic expressway network managed by the Company. We feel it is our duty to support an organisation that provides the same safety for premature and newborn babies in the Central Hungary region. Our company is proud to be able to support this socially important and special task once again through the Pro Filii Foundation and to be able to help those who help.”

Having celebrated its 35th anniversary in recent days, the Peter Cerny Foundation for the Treatment of Sick Premature Babies has been operating its 0-24 premature baby ambulance and transport ambulance service since 1989. In the Central Hungary region with a population of 4 million, the Foundation ensures the optimal start to life and quality survival of 2,800 out of 35,000 premature and sick newborns every year. Since its inception, it has been involved in the rescue and professional transport of more than 95,000 premature and sick newborn babies. Dr. Zsolt Somogyvári, President of the Peter Cerny Foundation, said:

“Sometimes even the helper needs help, and the support of MKIF Zrt. through the Pro Filii Foundation came at the right time. I would like to express our deepest gratitude for the quick and literally life-saving support on behalf of all the professionals at the Peter Cerny Foundation Ambulance Service, which will enable us to rescue and transport nearly 700 premature babies this summer.”
