M4 DEVELOPMENT DAY #2 – Humming

At the site of the Monor rest area under construction, humus is currently being deposited, a key element of the preparatory work.

Although it may look like a simple excavation from the outside, the process is in fact complex and tightly controlled: the work is carried out under archaeological supervision, so each excavated area is subject to thorough inspection and monitoring.

As part of the construction, the humus and subsoil will be continuously graded and monitored, as the excavated topsoil will be treated on site and used in subsequent landscaping works.

The current phase of work is not only about preparing the site, but also about preserving the values of the past and laying the foundations for a sustainable future.

The bus stop, equipped with a bus stop sign, will provide parking for 30 lorries, 5 buses and 34 cars per side, and 3 of the 3 car spaces will be accessible.

It will be family-friendly, with modern garden furniture, a fitness park and a playground.

A total of 37,000 square metres of green space will be created on both sides of the rest area, with more than 230 trees and 13,000 container shrubs.

As with our other rest areas, we provide separate waste collection.

The rest area is expected to be completed by August 2027.
